Legal help with ESA appeal.

As some of you are probably aware, the CAB has lost its Legal Services
Commission funding so they no longer help people with ESA appeals.

Can I get legal aid help from a solicitor?

Can I get legal aid help from a solicitor?

Might find a solicitor willing to work pro bono. A few even volunteer
their time to help people without actually doing the work directly -
in other words, they tell you what to write and to whom without
writing the letter(s) and dealing with it themselves.
Useful if you aren't able to get legal aid.

Local Council for Voluntary Services may know of some that do that.

No idea about legal aid help from a solicitor though.

Since the CAB packed up, I tried Shelter who now have the LSC legal funding
and they were fkin useless. One woman is all they employ and she did not
have a clue about ESA or appeals. The last time I contacted Shelter I was
told she was off sick and they did not know when she was going to return to
work so avoid them at all costs. This is why I had to find someone else to
deal with this matter.

I now have a firm of solicitors acting for me. Phone the Legal Services
Commission, they will assess your case to see if you qualify for legal
funding. Then LSC put you through to a solicitiors firm who ask roughly the
same questions again to see if you meet the requirements for funding from
their end, so to avoid a lengthy phone bill get the LSC to call you back
from the start, then proceed and it does not matter how long the process
takes.

Once the solicitors have your details they will send you the required forms
by post to sign and you are good to go, this is all done by post and on the
phone so there is not much to it really. Any questions are answered by phone
and any documents they need can be sent by RM or fax if you don't mind
paying. Send copies if using RM just in case they get lost in the post and
the solicitors do the rest.

A great system, my solicitors are based in Wales and I can be sitting here
in my front room and they are taking care of business for me, I think its
actually more convenient than having to go to my local CAB office. ;)
